Happy St. Patrick's Day

We've got the St. Patrick's Day spirit here in Coronado!

The first two photos were taken about twenty minutes ago at the Lawn Bowling court next to the Coronado Library.  I was drawn to the lady with sparkly green hair, so I introduced myself and she obliged me with a photo for my blog.

The bottom photo is of McP's Irish Pub on Orange Avenue.  They were doing a hopping St Patty's Day business when I walked by.

Lawn Bowling In Coronado

Lawn bowlers in Coronado are keeping the tradition alive.

In 1935 the Coronado Lawn Bowling Club was founded at 7th and D Avenue next to the library, and in 2010 the city constructed a world class artificial tournament quality green in the same location.

What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon!

Halloween in Coronado

It's halloween, and here are a few of the sights I photographed this morning on the way home from church.

The top two photos were taken in the plaza at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Adella Avenue.

The third photo was taken at the Coronado Lawn Bowling Green.  I thought this man looked like Harry Potter with a leaf blower, so I asked my husband to pull over, and "Harry" obliged me with a pose.

Lawn Bowlers

I was pleased to catch these images on my way to the library. The players look elegant in their all-white outfits. Quite spiffy really. What a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning! Grey Poupon anyone?
Big thanks to the three gentlemen who allowed me to take their photo for my blog. You guys are awesome!
